As we prepare for a time of much needed rest and reflection with the nagging awareness of 2020 having been an unusual year for everyone, we should also be reminded that for everything there is a season and as they pass they are filled with growth.
For RADA, 2020 has been a challenge, however the team buckled down and focused on doing as much as possible for struggling communities. The normal daily stresses faced by the less fortunate in society were escalated by the Covid-19 pandemic. RADA supporters and sponsors enabled the team to provide an increased amount of meals throughout the year to orphans, the elderly and the homeless, the most vulnerable in society. Not only was RADA able to adopt new homes this year, the NGO also launched their reusable sanitary wear project, RADA MiPad, aimed at empowering girls by enabling them to stay in school.
RADA messages of inspiration begins with raising your resonance. Create a ripple effect of positive change in the world around you. You don’t have to be exceptional. You don’t have to exert yourself beyond your means. In the end, all it takes is to do one small thing differently, empowering others with the belief that they are able to and should, do the same.
Shift your perspective on life issues. Think before acting and change your behaviour from being less negative to being more positive.
Spend quality time and energy on positive things that matter the most to you. Get up every day with a purpose for that day.
Be conscious of the people you encounter and work on making a difference in those people’s lives. Slow down, communicate, take the time to listen and be more understanding, treat them with tolerance and respect.
Kindness is key. Perform an act of kindness daily. This means being kind to yourself and others.
We are all faced with difficult situations and feelings at times, by helping others we are able to better manage our own issues. Going back to the very basics and being grateful for the relationships we share with others and celebrating life.
Make a concerted effort to provide comfort and compassion to family, friends, young and old in your community.
Although we might be apprehensive to start another year, it is important to remember we move forward together. We move forward with hope and hearts filled with kindness and love.
