RADA Music Project

What is the RADA Music Project?

The RADA Music Project supported by RADA Unearthed, aims to ignite a passion for music in communities giving potential artists the opportunity to explore hidden talents.

We work with various organisations and individuals with established track records and experience related to production and music.

What is the purpose of implementing the RADA Music Project?

The purpose of The RADA Music Project is to stimulate and support prospective musical talent.

By awakening a sense of hope in people and establishing an outlet for creative expression, we aim to change people’s hearts and minds, connecting people and inspiring them to make a difference.

East Rand Youth Choir

RADA teamed up with the East Rand Youth Choir (ERYC) in 2018, to help spread the RADA message of empowerment through live performance programmes and tours, creating awareness around RADA across borders. Established in 1978, the ERYC responds to the needs of a multicultural youth providing a centre of musical excellence in choral training and a meeting place for 85 young people (aged between 14 and 20) with musical aspirations.

“We are recognised as one of South Africa’s top youth choirs and are known on the international stage”, says Michelle Schuman manager of the ERYC.

Conductor Gert Pottas took over leadership of the choir in 2012 and has worked hard to ensure award winning performances both nationally and internationally.

This collaboration forms part of the RADA Music Project, whereby the RADA team provides assistance to young and aspiring musicians. The synergy between the two brands is invaluable, allowing youngsters to follow their passion and reach their full potential, while also supporting the needs of their surrounding community through outreach projects.

At RADA, we believe that music has the power to change people’s hearts and minds and connects us all as a people, regardless of age, gender, race or religion. Together we can make a difference and inspire the nation.
