Expresso Morning Live (SABC 3) 17 May 2022 - Interviews SEVVEN on Bully Awareness Month #RADAInspire
SEVVEN representing RADA chats about RADA Inspire bully awareness month on Expresso Morning Live also featuring Prime Circles 'Weapons of War' RADA music video. -
Prime Circle - 'Weapons of War' for RADA Inspire bully awareness month - May 2022
RADA’s inspire campaign during May brings awareness to the social issue of bullying. Forced isolation brought on by worldwide restrictions and lockdowns has resulted in a rise in depression and anxiety. It has also led to more screentime, causing an increase in online harassment. Cyberbullying over social networks feels more threatening due to the anonymity associated with it.
It is important to remember that bullies are not strong and confident people, instead they are insecure, anxious and hide their many issues by dominating and controlling others.
People who are subjected to bullying may feel powerless and may develop feelings of anger, hurt and or fear, negatively impacting their levels of self-confidence which in turn affects their relationships with friends and family.
It takes an immense amount of courage to stand up and speak out instead of ignoring and accepting the bad behaviour of others. It is not an easy journey, but it is important to remember that you are never alone. You have it within you to stand your ground, take back your power and move forward. Lean on your support network and find your strength.
At RADA we believe in educating and empowering society, creating awareness and inspiring individuals to show kindness and protect the vulnerable in communities.
We all have personal struggles that we deal with on a daily basis, however, deciding to treat others with respect, tolerance, understanding, kindness and love will ultimately make the world a better, safer and more peaceful place for us all. It costs nothing to be kind to someone else. It’s as simple as making a determined effort each day to be kind to just one person. Without you realizing it, that kindness could have a massive impact and be a life changing moment for them.
Be the Way ...Be the Change ...One Day at a Time. -
RADA Inspire - Service Industry awareness month flash mob at AGT Foods
Moving forward with kindness in your heart.
RADA’s annual inspire campaign enters its second month and the focus topic for April shifts to the service industry and the frontline individuals who work to serve customers, clients and employers.
The message is simple, firstly recognise the struggles of others, empathise and encourage those around you and more specifically this month, show kindness towards those who serve.
Shift your perspective because today you could be served by someone who is tying their very best not to fall apart. Sometimes all it takes to change someone’s day, is a smile or a friendly hello. By simply deciding that today you will go about your daily activities with kindness in your heart and treat everyone you interact with, with respect, is a step towards positive progression in the world.
Secondly, encourage those around you to be brave enough to own their truth and believe that they are important. That they are worth listening to, worth spending time with and that they make a difference in the world.
We can be greater together by helping and sincerely taking care of one another. There is unity in acceptance as we celebrate our many differences. Let status become an irrelevant entity in your life and instead make a determined effort to always choose kindness.

Expresso Morning Live SABC 3 Music - Howie Combrink Performs 'I See You' 5 March 2022
“‘I See You’ is a song about empathy and understanding. Communicating with a girl who has gone through trauma and abuse, recognizing the pain she has endured, understanding her difficulties and offering her the reassurance that no matter what happens she is not alone,” says Combrink.
The song inspires individuals to embrace life despite what they are going through or what their circumstances are. It encourages people to move forward, progressing one step at a time each day and to make the decision to rise up, take responsibility and live their best life.
‘I See You’ forms part of RADA’s third music album ‘RADA Unearthed Vol.2’, released through RADA Inspirational. The full album will be available on 22 June 2022, featuring well known and new local artists.
The song was co-written with Craig Hinds, Howie’s previous band member and front man of Watershed. -

The royalty earnings assigned to RADA from the song, have gone towards assisting a facility that makes a daily difference to the lives of children. “That is huge for me,” says Howie. “I realized how important these songs are and the impact my music is having on the lives of others. The better the song does, the more royalties it earns, enabling RADA to assist and help more communities in South Africa. Howie Combrink premiers his emotionally fueled new single and video, ‘I See You’, drawing attention to the hard-heartedness of abuse and human trafficking.
After releasing his critically acclaimed single, ‘The City’, back in 2020, singer-songwriter and producer, Howie Combrink joined forces with RADA, a non-profit organization, releasing his new single, ‘I See You’.
Howie Combrink is no stranger to the South African music scene and is known to his fans and music lovers for his up-tempo folk-pop tunes.
Produced by Howie Combrink himself, ‘I See You’ offers the kind of reassurance needed in challenging times. The song unfolds with emotive and anthemic sound which includes haunting string arrangements, pounding drums and acoustics. Combrink delivers a spirited vocal performance that perfectly captures the touching message at the heart of the song.
‘I See You’ celebrates defeating the odds despite the challenges faced along the way.
‘I See You’ forms part of RADA’s third music album ‘RADA Unearthed Vol.2’, released through RADA Inspirational. The full album will be available on 22 June 2022, featuring well known and new local artists, such as Timothy Moloi, MeKo and more.
The song was co-written with Craig Hinds, Howie’s previous band member and front man of Watershed.
“I co-wrote the song with my ex-bandmate Craig Hinds, which we did remotely due to lockdown restrictions at the time. Upon completion of the chords and lyrics, ideas were sent on to J-P Nobrega, CEO of RADA. J-P and I spent hours on the phone discussing the subject of abuse and trafficking and how this is a very real problem occurring worldwide. Gender-based violence and human trafficking is a topic we want to bring attention to whilst also creating awareness of the work that RADA is doing in vulnerable communities.”
The music video for the song, directed by Sevven and Howie Combrink, beautifully dramatizes the song’s narrative. Combrink and Sevven created a cinematic and soul-stirring video which is an up-close portrait of a character facing an abusive and traumatic past.
Featuring a captivating performance from actor, Riza Gene-Botes, the visual continues the track’s life-affirming message of discovering hidden strengths in troubled times.
Howie’s previously released single, ‘Believe’, featured on ‘RADA Unearthed Vol.1’ was a nationwide hit in 2017. ‘Believe’ was written and released with RADA. That is now my driving force, to write and release more”, Combrink explains.
Howie’s music is filled with empathy and conviction. ‘I See You’ reveals even more of Combrinks’ artistry… he further cements his growing reputation as one of the strongest contemporary forces in music.
Subversive, emotive and profound, immerse yourself in the world of ‘I See You’.

RADA Inspire - Taxi and road rage awareness month flash mob in Orange Farm
Shifting people’s perspectives with the intent to create a better understanding of those around us, is one of RADAs core objectives.
The annual campaign kicks off in March creating awareness during the month around taxis and road rage. One need not explain the sense of frustration we often feel when stuck in traffic and being cut off by fellow road users including the resulting escalation of emotions which can quickly affect the tranquility with which you started your day.
Bear in mind that the taxi industry plays an important part in South Africa’s transport sector, accounting for 75% of the daily transport of commuters who are important contributors in keeping the country functioning and are an integral part of the economy. Taxi drivers often seem to follow their own set of rules in traffic and although RADA in no way condones this behavior, we encourage you to give thought to the way you react.

Put a little love in your heart - music video
The release of RADAs latest music video ‘Put a Little Love in your Heart’ speaks of celebration, kindness, love and changing the world to be a better place for all humanity.
That begins with you by raising your resonance and creating a ripple effect of positive change in the world around you. You don’t have to be exceptional. You don’t have to exert yourself beyond your means. In the end, all it takes is to do one small thing differently, empowering others with the belief that they are able to and should, do the same.
‘Put a Little Love in your Heart’, the original song written by Jackie De Shannon, Jimmy Holiday and Randy Myers, is part of RADA’s second music album named RADA Inspire, released in 2019 and covered by local and international artists Caroline Borole (@watucaroline) and Lelo Ramasimong (@Ramelo_artist).
All the songs on the three RADA albums, not only carry messages of inspiration, but the royalties generated from each song is fed back into RADA to build, promote and support the community projects the non-profit is involved with. The music therefore has a direct impact on the lives of others and continues to make a tangible difference.
A message to Humanity …you are to hold the light and power within. Go forward in peace, in love and in celebration. -
