During November RADA draws the public’s attention to the orphans in our communities and the remarkable people who address their many needs.
Orphans should never be made to feel that they are different or excluded due to their social circumstances for which they are blameless. Life certainly has its ups and downs and for some the journey may be a little more intense. It is one’s response to life’s challenges that matters the most. Inspiring positive transformative thoughts and behaviour together with self-awareness and self-responsibility shapes young lives. By showing compassion towards those who are struggling and encouraging them to focus on their strengths, helps them build resilience, empowering them to face their daily challenges.
RADA focuses on raising awareness and celebrating the individuals who are called to take care of the most vulnerable children in our communities, providing them with a loving and nurturing home environment in which they can thrive.
Carers require unwavering mental and physical endurance, as well as a tremendous amount of selflessness. We recognize and applaud these individuals who devote their time to making a difference in the lives of others.
RADA currently supports several adopted homes and centres whose task it is to educate and/or take care of children. These include orphanages, places of safety, educare centres, homes for the disabled, homeless shelters, early childhood development centres, primary and high schools, situated in vulnerable communities in Gauteng, Limpopo, Free State, Mpumalanga and Northwest provinces. With the support of many RADA Angels and sponsors, RADA is able to consistently assess and assist with the many needs that arise.
Be encouraged to do something every day that will have a positive impact on someone else’s life. Making a difference doesn’t have to cost to you anything. Perhaps it’s just a few minutes of your time, a kind word, or a helping hand. We are all able to change the world by simply adopting an attitude that reflects empathy, kindness, care and love for one another.
