Imagine a world where every child, regardless of their circumstances, feels safe, loved and valued. Unfortunately, the absence of parents or guardians leaves many children neglected and alone. During November, RADA highlights the collective responsibility we all share to nurture and protect all children, ensuring they have access to the care and opportunities they deserve.
Behind every thriving vulnerable child is a network of dedicated caregivers. Whether they are foster parents, extended family members, educators or volunteers, they provide love, support and guidance. By offering access to education and emotional support, caregivers create a stable and nurturing environment, creating opportunities for a brighter future. Their selfless dedication is the cornerstone of success for these children.
RADA currently has 38 adopted homes, centres and projects in vulnerable communities across five provinces in South Africa. These include old age homes, orphanages, homes for the physically and mentally disabled, homeless shelters, pre-schools, primary and high schools. RADA’s latest adoptions include Stepping Stones Hospice (Gauteng), Manyeleti Primary School (Mpumalanga), Philena Primary School (Gauteng) and Makgophe Primary School (Northwest). Monthly deliveries to adopted projects include food, clothing, bedding, educational toys and books.
While the RADA Inspire campaign draws attention to vulnerable children during November, focus your energy on influencing a child’s life in a positive way. All children deserve to be nurtured, cared for and loved. Consider donating the books you have already read, reaching out to local schools to see if any children are in need, or volunteer your time at an orphanage. Sometimes it’s as simple as reaching out with a comforting hug, spending time and giving your undivided attention to your own child. These are the things that put smiles on faces and warm little hearts in a big way.
Together, we can build a happy world, it starts with love, kindness and care.
