RADA calls July Comfort month, in a way this is an extension of the message shared in June, which focused on spending quality time with friends, family and the elderly reminding us of how blessed we are and how thankful we should be. This month we are encouraging people to care for others by offering comfort to societies most vulnerable.
The meaning of the word COMFORT ref. Collins English Dictionary – NOUN: relief from affliction, grief / a person, thing, or event that brings solace or ease. VERB: to ease the pain of, to soothe, to cheer.
Providing comfort by offering to help where you can, no matter how small your contribution, should be the common cord that unifies us as a human race. With a foundation of empathy for others we are able to create a more harmonious environment in which we all can exist.
Being a catalyst of change in your space and encouraging others to do the same in theirs, could be the start to changing the world. It is easy to play life’s blame game which feeds a negative attitude and isn’t conducive to growth as a person or a society. We need to make a concerted effort to change the way we think, behave, communicate and treat others. By further enhancing this positive mindset, we shall create an infectious wave of positive change.
During July, make a determined effort to connect with those around you. A simple act of kindness can be powerfully effective and provide comfort. By loving and caring for each other we invest in humanity as a whole.
RADA recently adopted additional homes with the aim of offering support and care for their immediate needs and overall long-term growth. So, whether you choose to assist RADA or another NPO, simple consistent positive actions create a ripple effect of long-lasting positive change, allowing compassion to be a healing presence in our world.
