RADA has adopted its second home, also within Orange Farm, named Vuyiswa Home for the Disabled. Formerly his mother’s project, Benson now runs the home with his wife Maria.
Together they cater for up to 90 people who suffer from a range of mental and physical disabilities. There are a number of employees who assist at the Home and two qualified nurses who receive a stipend each month. Benson and Maria’s passion for their work was clear from the moment we were introduced to them and their determination has kept the Home running.
RADA has donated clothes and a wheelchair to the Home and our generous sponsor AGT Foods have agreed to donate food to the home on a monthly basis. The first donation was made in September 2017 where AGT Foods teamed up with e’Pap to make a sizeable donation. RADA has contributed significantly to renovations and upgrades of the home and provided activities to keep the residents busy and active. A table football and table tennis table have both been donated as well as a running and a cycling machine.
